Job Title: Program Manager (Mgr 1, Natural Resources) Position#: 00100609 Job Location: Wildlife Resources Conservation Center, Social Circle, GA Job Responsibilities: Plan, develop, and administer WRD’s Urban Wildlife Management program in metropolitan Atlanta and Savannah. Coordinate with department staff to provide technical guidance materials specific to urban wildlife, and serve as liaison to media and local governments, including animal control agencies. Serve as 24/7 on call emergency point of contact for any metro Atlanta wildlife emergencies that exceed the scope of commercial nuisance wildlife control officers. Supervise a team of 3 wildlife technicians and a wildlife biologist responsible for providing education programs, outreach, and technical guidance specifically geared to the unique demands created by wildlife in urban and suburban areas. Within 1 year of hire, successful candidate must 1. be vaccinated for rabies (titer check annually thereafter) and 2. reside within one of the following counties: Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Rockdale. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in biology, zoology, fisheries management, wildlife management, or a natural resources-related field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of job-related natural resources experience. Preferred Qualifications: • Detailed knowledge relative to nuisance wildlife management. • Certification, training and experience with chemical immobilization of wildlife and capture techniques. • Experience supervising multiple direct reports and remote staff. • Computer software and mapping experience (e.g. MS Word, Excel, GIS/GPS, and Arc-GIS). • DNR/WRD employment experience.
