Summer Internship – Land Management- Auburn, Alabama Make an Impact Outdoors Join Westervelt Ecological Services (WES) this summer and gain hands-on experience in conservation, habitat restoration, and land management. As a Land Management Intern, you'll work alongside experienced environmental professionals on real-world projects that help restore and protect wetlands, streams, and wildlife habitat across the Southeast. What You'll Do • Conduct habitat, vegetation, and stream monitoring • Assist with wildlife surveys and ecological assessments • Support invasive species management and prescribed burns • Use GPS/GIS technology for mapping and field data collection • Analyze data and contribute to technical reports • Work with team members, landowners, and contractors on conservation projects What We're Looking For • Current college student pursuing a degree in Biology, Ecology, Forestry, Wildlife Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field • Completion of at least sophomore year preferred • Interest in field-based conservation and ecological restoration • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills • Ability to work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions • Valid driver's license required • Ability to do some overnight travel What You'll Gain • Real-world field experience in ecological restoration and land management • Professional mentorship and networking opportunities • Exposure to GPS/GIS, monitoring techniques, and conservation practices • Competitive pay: $20/hr (undergraduate) and $22/hr (graduate students) • Housing allowance available for students who must relocate Why WES?
