About the Appointment: Concordia College invites applications from candidates with a Ph.D. in the biological sciences for a full-time, tenure-track position in the Biology Department beginning August 2027. We seek a broadly trained biologist whose expertise and teaching interests complement our undergraduate liberal arts program. The successful candidate will contribute to our introductory biology curriculum (evolution & diversity, ecology), develop and teach upper-level courses in their area of expertise, and mentor undergraduate students in research and independent projects. We welcome applicants who use field-based, laboratory, computational, or integrative approaches and who are eager to collaborate across disciplines. Undergraduates typically present their research at regional and national meetings and are encouraged to publish their results in professional journals. Qualifications: What We're Looking For: We seek a broadly trained biologist whose expertise and teaching interests complement our undergraduate liberal arts program. Candidates who can contribute to instruction in geographic information systems (GIS) and in entomology, insect–plant interactions, or related areas are preferred. Candidates with interests or expertise in bioinformatics, computational biology, ecology (including molecular ecology), evolution, environmental biology, organismal biology, environmental science, or other complementary fields are encouraged to apply.
