Hutchinson Zoo · Kansas · posted today
Hutchinson Zoo is a small, municipal Zoo in central Kansas. It is a vibrant, engaging part of our community and fulfills our mission of "Plains conservation through community engagement, inspiring experiences, and exemplary animal care." The Zoo's flagship conservation program is Native Wildlife Rehabilitation, with over 1200 annual admissions. In 2024, the Zoo celebrated 27 years of continuous AZA accreditation, opened a 3-acre Gateway to the Prairie Exhibit and embarked on a new Strategic Master Plan; an updated Ocelot Habitat opened in 2025. A Pavilion and pedal boat ride open in 2026, and construction begins on the first phase of the Zoo’s new master plan, including Mexican Wolves, Peccaries and more! The Hutchinson Zoo seeks a well-rounded individual with a positive attitude, animal knowledge and experience, a passion for hard work, and a desire to support a strong zoo team with lofty goals. As a leader of a small group of animal care professionals, the successful candidate will work directly with staff on projects, training, and animal care, and support wildlife rehabilitation as needed. Preference will be given to candidates highly motivated to support a team implementing positive reinforcement training for voluntary husbandry and medical procedures.
