Under general direction, plans, develops, implements, and evaluates educational and interpretive programs and services for Micke Grove Zoo in accordance with professional standards for zoos and aquariums. Serves as a resource and subject-matter specialist in natural history, conservation, informal science education, and interpretation for the Parks and Recreation Division of the Department of Facilities Management. The position develops and coordinates educational experiences for zoo visitors, students, educators, community organizations, and special-interest groups; develops conservation education curriculum and outreach programs; supervises paid program staff and volunteers; and represents Micke Grove Zoo throughout the San Joaquin County community. The position also assists with interpretive exhibits and educational materials, grant development, program evaluation, community partnerships, and resource development.
