Seasonal Field Technicians – Greater Prairie-Chicken Ecology in Kansas and Nebraska Location: Multiple locations throughout Kansas and Nebraska Job Category: Seasonal Salary: $2,250/month, housing provided Start Date: February 22, 2027 Last Date to Apply: November 15, 2025 Description: Join a team with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Kansas State University, to help conduct research on greater prairie-chicken populations in Nebraska and Kansas. Research objectives will be focused on collecting data on greater prairie-chicken survival, nest success, brood survival, habitat selection, and movement of greater prairie-chickens on rangelands and CRP fields among seven separate study areas (Flint Hills, KS(3); Hill City, KS, Sand Hills, NE; Bloomfield, NE; and SW Nebraska). Housing and project-related field equipment/vehicles will be provided for project staff assigned to each study area team. Teams will consist of 2-3 technicians led by a project researcher. We are looking to fill multiple 6 month-long seasonal technician positions with availability to start February 2027.
