Assistant or Associate Professor, Evolutionary Biology

The Department of Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Houston seeks to hire an evolutionary biologist at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We are particularly interested in applicants with research interests and a record of accomplishments using quantitative approaches to study evolutionary biology. We encourage applications from individuals who will complement existing departmental strengths in evolutionary genetics, genomics, ecology, integrative biology, developmental biology, cancer biology, structural biology, and neurobiology and behavior. The successful candidate would be expected to establish and maintain a nationally competitive and externally funded research program and teach courses in Evolution and/or Genetics. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field. Candidates for appointment at the Assistant Professor level must demonstrate a strong publication record and the potential to establish an independent, externally funded research program. Candidates applying at the Associate level must have a well-established, externally funded research program and a strong record of independent scholarship and scientific leadership.
