Forest Conservation Coordinator | North Tri-State Position Ruffed Grouse Society & American Woodcock Society Home office in Southeast Kentucky, Southwest Virginia, or Eastern Tennessee. Full-time, unlimited term; field work up to 30% with travel. Close date: October 1, 2026, or until filled. Manage Southern Appalachians wildlife forestry projects: GIS analysis and management plans; contracts and prospectuses; forest-management prescriptions; field forestry with staff and contractors; and program support. QUALIFICATIONS: Forestry or related natural-resources degree; bachelor’s with 5+ years or master’s with 3+ years preferred. Knowledge of forest management and wildlife habitat, bidding/contracts, forest products, harvesting, silviculture/ecology, habitat improvement and regulations. Site-specific planning, private-landowner/agency, GPS, ArcGIS and Microsoft Office experience preferred. Excellent communication; able to manage projects, meet deadlines, work independently, solve problems, work in challenging field conditions and drive 4WD vehicles. DUTIES: Produce grant deliverables; develop prescriptions; prepare contracts; lead bidding; oversee staff/contractors; track payments, match, metrics and deliverables; execute agreements; participate in collaboratives; perform GIS, mapping, monitoring, recordkeeping and reporting; draft restoration/annual work plans; coordinate partners and administer grants. Reports to the Southern Appalachians Forest Conservation Director; 6-month probation. Salary $60,000–$84,000; benefits include PTO, health insurance, retirement contribution and vehicle/mileage.
