The Animal Care Specialist - Float provide exceptional daily care and husbandry for animals in accordance with AZA, USDA, and Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance standards. Responsibilities include preparing diets, monitoring animal health and behavior, maintaining enclosures and life support systems, supporting veterinary care, implementing enrichment and training programs, and safely handling and moving animals. This role also contributes to breeding and conservation programs, maintains accurate animal and facility records, responds to animal-related emergencies, and collaborates across teams to support animal wellbeing. Team members engage with guests through educational experiences and keeper talks while supporting DZCA’s commitment to safety, conservation, sustainability, and exceptional animal care.
